While the last few Destiny 2 seasons have each introduced a solid amount of new PvE activities and story content, the impending season may not focus on any element of PvE content at all. Many players have reported to sites like Reddit that they’re either feeling a sense of FOMO for not playing the season long enough or burnout from participating in the new seasonal content model. Season 10 looks to build off this Osiris momentum with the re-introduction of Trials, but it’s likely players aren’t going to receive any new PvE content in the new season for that reason. It’s a perfect transition from Osiris’ appearance in season 9 to bring back Trials of Osiris for the subsequent season, but at the same time, Bungie may take the time to retool or examine PvE content for the future. Should the seasonal content continue, and with Bungie not showing any intention to change that development strategy, season 10 may be the perfect time to step back and evaluate what works well and what doesn’t with PvE in its current state. With season 10 right around the corner and season 11 several months away, it’s possible there may be a return to some of the core plot moments that came with Shadowkeep in an overall expanded story focus.

Xbox One and PS4 gamers are enjoying Destiny 2’s Story Mode thus far on Xbox one for two days and it stays on evaluation guardians 1/8.
Last week, in my Halo 5: Guardians review , I briefly talked about the game’s comprehensive new PvP matchmaking system. However, during the pre-release review period, I didn’t really get the chance to properly test it out because the pool of players was small, and restricted to pre-release playlists that threw everyone together regardless of their CSR competitive skill ranking. Now that the game has been out for a week, I’ve been able to fully evaluate just how good Halo 5’s matchmaking is — at least from an anecdotal, personal level — and am reporting back as promised with a short extension to my review to cover this aspect of the game.
And so far, I’m really impressed with the way that matchmaking works. I’ve not been shy in admitting how poor I am at playing competitive FPS games in the past , despite absolutely loving them. There’s just something about the challenge that I really enjoy, and when I do get kills, they really mean a lot to me. But that’s not to say it isn’t frustrating to frequently get my ass handed to me on a platter by better players.
To me, it’s part and parcel of the experience — at least it is in most games whose matchmaking seems to be more about putting people together based on good server connections, rather than their level of skill. What I’ve been longing for, however, is a game that does a really good job of matching players of equal skill — and Halo 5 seems to be doing just that.
The way that matchmaking works in Halo 5 is that when you first start playing Arena — the most competitive aspect of the PvP side of the game — you have to play ten “placement matches” before you’re ranked and given a CSR. These ten games are essentially your introduction into Arena, and once you’ve played through them, you’re ranked on your performance and put into one of seven categories: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Onyx, and Champion. Needless to say, when I played through my commencement games, I didn’t do particularly well, and ended up being ranked bottom of the barrel bronze.
If that’s what I rank, then so be it. What’s most important to me is that I’m grouped together with players of a similar level of ability or indeed, lack thereof so that the competition is at least fairly equal — and so far, this definitely seems to be the case.

The history of eugenics is the study of development and advocacy of ideas related to eugenics around the world. Early eugenic ideas were discussed in Ancient Greece and Rome. The height of the modern eugenics movement came in the late 19th and early 20th century. Today eugenics continues to be a topic of political and social debate. The philosophy was most famously expounded by Plato , who believed human reproduction should be monitored and controlled by the state.
Mates, in Plato’s Republic, would be chosen by a “marriage number” in which the quality of the individual would be quantitatively analyzed, and persons of high numbers would be allowed to procreate with other persons of high numbers.

I know im in the minority here but my interest in this franchise started out by seeing the Elites for the first time back in the day when Halo 2 was still online on the OG xbox, and I had a instant fascination with this species since that, and once I learned that I could Play the game as them, I instantly got hyped and bought an Xbox just to start my journey on this wonderful franchise – and the rest is history.
But I think its safe to say that I got kinda upset when the Elites started to be “limited” when halo reach came out, and extremelly sad when Halo 4 came out and they were just gone as playable characters. There’s still not much DLCs released on Destiny, and because of this the release date for Destiny 2 has been delayed until next year. According to reports, we can expect more DLCs on Destiny this year. He added, “Destiny’s player base is clearly getting restless for new content, particularly since this is the first time since the launch of the game in that more than a couple of months have gone by without having a clear roadmap as to what is in the near-term pipeline.
A significant erosion of the game’s player base would be a disappointment and a major missed opportunity. While we suspect most players would return for a Destiny 2, there are no guarantees in this business, particularly since we think many players felt there was an implicit guarantee of regular, meaningful content updates for the game. As a guardian myself since the launch of Destiny 1, I had enjoyed most of my time doing raids with my friends. Raids are considered as endgame activities for this game. Before playing Destiny, I was just coming back to gaming after taking a long hiatus. One thing led to another and since I absolutely love farming for weapons and armors that I want. For myself I ended up with over hours spent on the game.
On top of that, I kinda like the sci fi elements in the game such as the ability to use supers and stuff were part of the major selling point for me. The three characters are hunter, warlock and titan. Each character has its own unique class ability as well. Each person will find one character to be easier to use than others. Thus, it is important for you yourself to try out each character and see which one fits your play style the most.

Thanks to the feedback received from the Destiny community, developer and publisher Bungie has taken the decision to remove the controversial matchmaking features that were added in the update late last year. Destiny players have reported a huge increase in lag since the December update was rolled out by Bungie.
Who explain more about the roll back. Our designers and engineers are always exploring measures that can be taken to improve the Player-versus-Player combat experience for everyone. Their goal has always been to cultivate an arena in which every Guardian can find quality matches against worthy opponents with good connections. When we shipped Destiny: The Taken King, we delivered a new system to better enable us to evaluate Guardians as combatants.
These changes will be made in an effort to reduce lag. For more information on the new decision by Bungie to roll back the update jump over to the official Bungie Blog website for details. With its split from Activision now formalized, the content now rolling out likely begins to represent the Destiny universe specifically as Bungie hopes to present it. The latest addition to that world is the Season of Opulence, a not-expansion that nonetheless offers a new helping of content for season pass players to explore. Like the Drifter and Forge seasons that preceded it, Opulence focuses squarely on content for the initiated, dedicated player.
Without discrete new story missions or strikes, or even a true guiding purpose to the treasure-gathering, everything here feels a bit hollow, especially in comparison to previous epic encounters with the likes of Crota, Ghaul, or Uldren. Moreover, I find myself increasingly distanced from a sense of character agency for my hero. Like in the Forge and Drifter seasons, it feels like my Guardian is just being shepherded along to the next shiny object, chasing new gear without a particularly clear reason why.
I miss the sense of epic heroism and purpose that defined the early years of the franchise. I dig this concept, and the way it allows players to customize their loot in meaningful ways with a bit of work.
This Week At Bungie – 4 / 23 / 2020
Bungie has announced that they plan on fixing connectivity and latency issues that have been residing within Destiny later this week as well as involving the community in future changes on a more consistent basis. For those unaware, Destiny received a stealthy skill-based matchmaking system last week without any announcement whatsoever. Since this update was released, players were entering matchmaking games without the knowledge that they would be rated based off of skill causing a gap of communication between the studio and their fans, something which was heavily frowned upon from their fans.
To further the issue, the updated skill-based matchmaking system affected an issue with performance in terms of matchmaking times, causing an impact with the overall multiplayer experience as fans patiently waited to be connected with other players.
“When we shipped Destiny: The Taken King, we delivered a new system to better enable us to evaluate Guardians as combatants,” said.
For some players who have been playing Destiny for long enough to have maxed out their characters, the only thing keeping them returning to the game is Crucible matches, but problems with lag can be enough to send even the most die-hard players to another game. Obviously, developer Bungie wants to avoid this at all costs. When the latest expansion to the game, The Taken King , was launched last year, it brought with it a new system to evaluate player skill, Bungie community manager DeeJ wrote in a blog post earlier this week.
Since then, the company has been tweaking matchmaking to focus on both skill and connectivity, in order to ensure challenging matches that are relatively lag-free. Starting today at 10 am PT, Bungie will be deploying new matchmaking settings, which will be exclusive to Iron Banner to start. With the recent report that the sequel to Destiny is farther off than initially thought, Bungie has its work cut out for it if it wants players to stick around.
While the company has been adding smaller updates like the recent Sparrow Racing League, more is needed to keep players returning. Bungie seems to hope that involving players in decisions more will make them more likely to stick around. Please enable Javascript to watch this video. News Home. Follow us. Kristofer Wouk. Destiny: Bungie set to release major DLC in line with Taken King following update reveal
Player versus player matchmaking in the past has been determined by a particularly finicky set of algorithms, ones that have matched players based on their skill in the Crucible. Naturally, not everyone is happy with that, which is why Bungie will be implementing some cha-cha-changes once again. This week, you can expect a Crucible where PvP will favour connection quality over skills. These changes will be made in an effort to reduce lag.
